چکیده

The immunophenotypation of circulating lymphocyte by flow cytometry is a fast and efficient modern quantitative method and has been also used to assess immune status in normal pregnancy and pregnancy complicated by infection or with placental abnormalities or with preeclamsia. Since the literature indicates controversy in the immune etiology of abortion and in the levels of circulating lymphocyte subsets in normal pregnancy, this study aims to extend current knowledge by quantification with flow cytometry sets and subsets of circulating lymphocytes in the second trimester of normal pregnancy and pregnancy complicated by miscarriage. Key-Words: Circulating lymphocyte, Immunophenotypation, Flow cytometry, Second trimester pregnancy, Pregnancy complicated by miscarriage, Recurrent abortion

Peripheral Dendritic Cells and CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ Regulatory T Cells in the First Trimester of Normal Pregnancy and in Women with Recurrent Miscarriage

The development of pregnancy is possible due to initiation of immune response in the body of the mother resulting in immune tolerance. Miscarriage may be caused by the impaired maternal immune response to paternal alloantigens located on the surface of trophoblast and fetal cells. The aim of the study was to compare the population of circulating dendritic cells (DCs) and CD4+CD25+Foxp3+ regulat...

Soluble CD30 in Normal Pregnancy Pre-Eclampsia and Recurrent Pregnancy Loss

Background: Normal pregnancy is thought to be dependent on Th2 deviation, while Recurrent Pregnancy Loss (RPL) and Pre-eclampsia (PE) appear to be biased toward the Th1 immune response. It is believed that the soluble form of CD30 (sCD30) is an index of Th2 immune response or modulator of Th1/Th2 responses. Objective: The aim of this study was determination of the sCD30 level in RPL and PE pati...

O-37: Yolk Sac Diameter and Embryonic Heart Rate As Prognostic Factors of First Trimester Spontaneous Miscarriage

Background: During the past 20 years a lot of information is achieved about the first trimester of pregnancy through ultrasound and intrauterine fertilization. Many researchers tried to use the symptoms of ultrasound in early pregnancy like measuring the gestational sac and yolk sac of the pregnancy to predict the continuation of pregnancy. Aim of the recent study is to predict the risk of spon...

Regulatory T cells in human pregnancy

During pregnancy, fetal tolerance has to be achieved without compromising the immune integrity of the mother. CD4+CD25highFoxp3+ regulatory cells (Tregs) have received vast attention as key players in immune regulation. However, the identification of human Tregs is complicated by their similarity to activated nonsuppressive T cells. The general aim of this thesis was to determine the antigen sp...

Homing Receptor Expression Is Deviated on CD56+ Blood Lymphocytes during Pregnancy in Type 1 Diabetic Women

Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) is characterized by an augmented pro-inflammatory immune state. This contributes to the increased risk for gestational complications observed in T1DM mothers. In normal pregnancies, critical immunological changes occur, including the massive recruitment of lymphocytes, particularly CD56bright NK cells, into early decidua basalis and a 2nd trimester shift towards ...
